The PCBC Day School is a hidden gem in University Park, bordering Preston Hollow. Not only do we have beautifully newly designed preschool classrooms and an indoor playground, but we are also located within the mix of traditional and modern architectural design of Park Cities Baptist Church. Our children enjoy three different age-appropriate outdoor playgrounds and experience weekly special lessons in music, chapel, Spanish and library, which allows for greater exposure across multiple curriculum domains. By having low teacher/child ratios we can focus on individualized teaching. Knowing children learn best through play, we have a curriculum of active learning that nurtures the growth of the whole child. Most importantly, our Christian beliefs and values set us apart, as it is the basis of our curriculum.

We use Experience Early Learning Curriculum with our infants, toddlers, and twos. The Experience Early Curriculum applies child development theories and brain research to a unique model of teacher support, child experiences, family engagement, and incorporates a Bible story for the week. Our Preschool: Three’s, Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten classes use a mix of The Scope and Sequence by Jerri Thompson and Learning Without Tears curriculum. The Scope and Sequence is used as a guide by the teachers as they develop their curriculum and lessons for each of their classes. There is flexibility in the lesson planning that accounts for the individualized teaching the teachers do for their class as a whole and then for each child within their class. Learning without Tears offers curriculum across multiple domains, but the Day School primarily uses the writing component when teaching the foundations of writing. For the Bible teaching, the teachers use a common schedule of lessons that are accompanied by the theme, scripture reference and age-appropriate memory verse children learn weekly

Yes! PCBC Day School invites parents to join the school as a Room Parent. The Room Parents works directly with the administration/families to implement special events, class parties and even playdates outside of school hours. Parents and grandparents are also welcome throughout the year for special days, like Parent’s Back to School Night, Fall Festival Parade, Christmas Program etc.

The cut-off date for each class is the first day of school. For instance, infants must be 4 months-old by August 27, 2024 to enroll for the 2024-2025 School Year. Our TK students will be those students who need a bit of extra time and may have already turned 5 by August 27, 2024.

The administration makes a point to always be available for face-to-face conversations immediately before and after school. Personal meetings are always welcomed. Much of the daily communication that happens between teachers and parents happens at the classroom doors at drop-off and pick-up and throughout the day in our online communication platform called Brightwheel. Brightwheel also allows the administration to upload the School Directory, School Newsletters, and other pertinent information, so it is at the parents’ fingertips. Emails are sent on rare occasions as a form of back communication. We host two parent/teacher conferences during the school year so parents can have a specific time to talk to their child’s teacher about successes and concerns.

Students in the Preschool: Two’s, Preschool: Three’s and Pre-K/TK Classes will wear school uniforms. Students in the Infants and Toddler classes do not wear uniforms. Our official uniform provider is Flynn O’Hara Uniforms.

PCBC Day School offers a waived Registration Fee for an older sibling that is concurrently enrolled with a younger sibling.

After a family has toured, applied and been offered a spot, they must sign the Day School Contract and pay the Registration Fee and the first month’s tuition, both of which are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
